HELLO EVERYONE!

Yes, I am back from my sabbatical!  It was fun, and it was enriching, and it was challenging.  Thank you so much for giving me the gift of time.

And it was such a refreshing time that I am excited to be back at the church, back in the midst of our shared ministry, back working with the people of Spokane, the people of our neighborhood; again, back to work and play, pray and sing, with you!

There are a few IMPORTANT EVENTS that are coming right up:  please MARK YOUR CALENDAR AND PLAN TO COME ALONG:

1.     THE PASTOR’S PATIO PARTY IS THIS SUNDAY, AUGUST 30TH, AT 6:00 PM at ANDY and JIM CASTROLANG’S HOME.   Come to 2011 E. 48th anytime from 6:00 pm on and enjoy drinks, hamburgers, hotdogs, veggie burgers and the potluck offerings of all the guests.  There will be croquet on the grass and food and drink and good company.  There will be some chairs, and blankets in the grass; there is always room for one more.  Bring a side dish to share, or a dessert if you wish.  The weather is sure to be fine, so come on over!  (If you get lost, call 998-7204 for help!)

2.     Our “Church Family” Camp at N-Sid-Sen is scheduled for the weekend of September 11-13, beginning with dinner at 7:00 pm on Friday night and ending after lunch on Sunday.  We will have one worship service  at 10:30 Sunday morning at camp.  Registration closes this Sunday!  Please be considerate of our Camp Director and his staff and REGISTER THIS WEEKEND if you have not already done so!  This is a very special community weekend and you will be glad that you took the time to get away, for all, or for part of it.

3.     It is not too soon to mark your calendar for that first Sunday in October, MANNA CONCERT, October 4th, 3-5 pm.  Our MANNA  concert tradition continues strong, with an outstanding group of musical performers again this year.  Get your tickets in September, take tickets to sell to your friends and neighbors!  Tickets will be on sale in the office beginning September 8thOUR GOAL THIS YEAR IS “TO FILL THE HOUSE”!  That means: 450 people in our sanctuary; for a great concert, fun raffle baskets, and a worthy fundraiser on behalf of MEALS ON WHEELS and 2ND HARVEST FOOD BANK.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday, truly, I do!

Pastor Marj is on a well deserved vacation but  will be back in time for the party!

God bless, and see you on Sunday,

Pastor Andy
